'Gotham' Season 3 News, Spoilers: Series Introduces More Villains; Penguin Names Riddler As His New Accomplice
"Gotham" season 3 may be packed with a new batch of villains, but that does not mean that the old ones will already take a back seat.
While the Mad Hatter, the Tweedle Brothers, the Talon and Solomon Grundy have been named as the new villains next season, actor Robin Lord Taylor revealed that fans will see his character Penguin at his darkest and deadliest in season 3.
According to the actor, he can be every monster everyone thinks he is especially now that he already has a new accomplice.
The previous season saw the murder of Penguin's mother. Now, the villain is set to become the next darkest face on television. What even poses more threat in the upcoming installment is his tie-up with his new partner in crime--the Riddler a.k.a. Dr. Nygma.
In a recent interview, Cory Michael Smith talked about what happens next season after the season 2 finale had him introduced to the Court of Owls.
"We are becoming aware that their hand is really controlling," Smith said.
The official synopsis for "Gotham" season 3 states, "On season 3 of 'Gotham,' the origin story continues and the stakes are higher than ever. Supervillains more ambitious and depraved are introduced, and a realignment of alliances shakes up the fight for power in Gotham City."
In other news, James Carpinello of "Person of Interest" has been cast as Falcone's prodigal son Mario Falcone. It remains to be seen how his character will affect the series next season.
"Gotham" season 3 premieres on September 19, 8:00 P.M. on FOX.
