'Gotham' Season 3 News: Fans Treated To First Look At The Mad Hatter
"Gotham" season 2 opened with more supervillains being set on the loose on the streets of Gotham. These supervillains include the resurrected Fish Mooney and the dangerous Oswald Cobblepot, a.k.a. Penguin. In season 3, Gotham City will still be the home of other DC supervillains, including The Mad Hatter.
Jervis Tech, a.k.a. The Mad Hatter, became part of the "Batman" comic book mythology in 1948, and his appearance is very similar to the Mad Hatter character from "Alice in Wonderland." He is a scientist who uses his mind-controlling devices to control his victims. In "Gotham" season 3, he is described as "a talented hypnotist teetering on the edge of madness."
Just recently, fans were treated to a first look at the supervillain ahead of his appearance in the 3rd episode of "Gotham" season 3, titled "Look Into My Eyes."
The character will be played by "The Walking Dead" and "Secret City" actor Benedict Samuel.
In the upcoming series, he will find his way to the city while on his quest to know what happened to his sister Alice, who went missing in the city several years ago.
Aside from The Mad Hatter, season 3 will also introduce Tweedle brothers, the Court of Owls, Maggie Geha's Poison Ivy, Jamie Chung's Valerie Vale, Fish Mooney and other monsters. The new season will also feature a more true-to-comics Solomon Grundy than the character introduced in "Arrow." The laughing madman who made an audible return in the season 2 finale will resurface in season 3 to join the other villains in wreaking havoc in Gotham.
"Gotham" season 3 premieres Sept. 19 on FOX.
