‘Gotham’ Season 2 Spoilers, Plot Rumors: New GCPD Police Commissioner, The Joker’s Fate

As 'Gotham' season 2 is well underway, many fans of the series are wondering about the developments in the storyline, and also what's to come. For now, news outlets are talking about the new Police Commissioner that's set to take Gotham by storm, and what really happened to the Joker.

For those that may not know, Gotham recently lost one of its strong armed forces, Commissioner Sarah Essen, however, the city is going to see some changes at the hands of a new ruthless and commissioner in season 2.

According to a spoiler by IBTimes, in the episode "Strike Force," fans will see for the first time a new police commissioner by the name of Captain Nathaniel Barnes, who's played by Michael Chiklis.

The first thing Barnes is going to in power, according to The Futon Critic, is the creation of a new "law-abiding task force," with the help of Jim Gordon.

However, fans should be careful to pass judgment on the new commissioner, as reports are saying that he's going to be very unpredictable. This means that in the long run, fans of the series may not agree with all of his decisions, but only time will tell if that will come to fruition.

The actor, Chiklis, revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, that fans should perceive his character as a "bull in a bull ring, not a bull in a china shop." This means that this character will surely have some pull and make some great and risky changes to the city of Gotham.

Setting that aside, another matter that fan of 'Gotham' are looking to put at piece is the fate of the Joker. While many were left wondering if the villain is alive or not, there's evidence that leans toward the idea that his legacy has not yet been concluded.

While nothing is set in stone as of yet, fans of the series should not put all their eggs in one basket as there is a good chance the Joker is still alive.

For now, all fans of 'Gotham' can do is catch the next episode which airs on Monday, Oct. 12 on Fox.
