'Gotham' Season 2 Spoilers: New Villains Set To Arrive In Gotham City
Villains will dominate the big screen in the upcoming episodes of "Gotham" season 2.
According to Christian Post, "Gotham" season 2 is set to feature more of The Joker, who is assumed as Cameron Monaghan's character in the series. In fact, Gotham's Clown Prince is seen in the series' season 2 trailer, which led fans to anticipate that he is going to have a pivotal role in the series' story arc.
The Joker's major impact in the series is affirmed by "Gotham" star Sean Pertwee, who plays Alfred Pennyworth in the series. In his interview with Mirror UK, Pertwee said that it was less standalone episodically, as compared to the last season. He added that there were bigger story arcs of for or five episodes, so fans would get interaction with a lot of the characters.
For Pertwee, "Gotham" season 2 would feel more cinematic, having a confident gait. The actor added that fans would not be disappointed and they were going to be very, very proud of it.
Aside from The Joker, "Gotham" season 2 would touch the story of Mr. Freeze, along with secrecy of Indian Hill and Dr. Bruno Strange. According to International Business Times, both villains shall rise and face Jim Gordon, who has strengthened his bond with Penguin during the mid-season finale.
"Gotham" executive producer Bruno Heller also promised that "Gotham" season 2 is going to be better than season 1, with tighter focus on less story arcs, as compared to the first season. According to Heller, "Gotham" season 1 had several story lines, which affected the integrity of the entire series.
"Gotham" season 2 is set to premiere on Feb. 29 on FOX.
