'Gotham' Season 2 Spoilers, News: Two More DC Villains Promised for Next Installment

Recent news has now suggested the introduction of two new villains in the upcoming second season of Fox's 'Gotham.'

According to TV Line, there will be a new male villain and female villain.

"What I've got is... Fox's Gotham casting for Season 2 a "male DC Villain" described as "intelligent, cultured and highly articulate," "extremely attractive, both seductive and threatening," as well as a female DC Villain in her mid- to late 20s - "knock-out." So get speculating!" writes TV Line.

Both characters have been confirmed to be original DC villains, so this opens the door for a lot of possibilities. It is also safe to admit that we haven't seen these characters appear.

It is also important to note that we've received news earlier that the Joker, The Riddler, and Dr. Freeze will all be staple villains in the next installment.

"As for who and what we might see in Gotham season 2, it's safe to say that Cory Michael Smith's Edward Nygma will take a more central role as he heads down the path to becoming the Riddler. At the 2015 Fox Upfront event in New York City, the audience was promised both the Joker and Mr. Freeze will appear in season two," writes Den of Geek.

The Joker's character Jerome was teased for a brief episode in the first season, but it's safe to say that we'll see the villain truly fleshed out in the upcoming season.

"We're going to find out how the hell Jerome, the proto-Joker we met earlier in this season, connects with the Joker as people known him," 'Gotham' showrunner Bruno Heller told The Hollywood Reporter. "That's the big focus of the beginning of the second season. We're going to tell the story of how the Joker came to be...That's teaser enough, I think."

'Gotham' is slated to return in the fall.
