Speculations are rife among 'Gotham' fans whether or not Jerome Valeska (Cameron Monaghan) will turn out to be the Joker in the second season of the series on FOX.

Christian Today reports that Monaghan, who portrayed the role of the psychopathic in 'Gotham' Season 1, recently posted a black-and-white photograph in his Instagram account, wherein  he appears as if he is set to get his mug shot done while wearing the typical menacing smile of the Clown Prince of Crime.

Earlier, it was disclosed that Monaghn's character will return in 'Gotham' Season 2, this time, the show will concentrate on his change to become the greatest nemesis of Batman.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in May, series showrunner Brunno Heller said, "We're going to find out how the hell Jerome, the proto-Joker we met earlier in this season, connects with the Joker as people known him. That's the big focus of the beginning of the second season. We're going to tell the story of how the Joker came to be."

In the meantime, recently FOX revealed that actress Jessica Lucas will portray the character of Tabitha Galavan, the 'sexy and violent' sister of James Frain's character Theo in the upcoming season.

TV Line reports that Tabitha will also use the moniker Tigress, and "she's the opposite of her cold and calculating brother, deriving a sensual pleasure from the mayhem she's tasked with making." In fact, Theo as well as Tabitha was created as original villains for the television series, and their primary objective is to spread conflict in the city.

Meanwhile, a report in E! News stated that currently 'Gotham' is in search of an actress who will portray the recurring role of Scarlett St. George, an "ethereal looking, opinionated, beguiling, and free spirited" lady, who is charming and full of personality too. Now it remains to be seen whether she succeeds in getting the attention of one of the officers in Gotham's police department.

'Gotham' Season 2 will premiere on FOX on Sept. 21.
