‘Gotham’ Season 1 Episode 10 Recap: 'Lovecraft' Showcases a Deadly Game of Cat and Mouse
Fox's 'Gotham' aired its mid-season finale on Nov. 24, and viewers watched as Bruce Wayne and Selina "Cat" Kyle are forced to leave Alfred behind and run for their lives.
The tenth episode of 'Gotham' Season 1, which is entitled "Lovecraft," was directed by Guy Ferland and written by Rebecca Dameron.
The episode started off at the Wayne Manor being intruded upon by a trio of contract killers looking for Selina, the witness in the already-closed case over the murder of Bruce's parents. They killed the Wayne groundskeeper and then attacked Bruce's butler Alfred, which prompted Bruce and Selina to run for their lives.
Detective James Gordon found out that Harvey Dent leaked Selina's name to Dick Lovecraft, and decided to look for Dick to stop the hit set out on Selina. In the end, James ended up getting framed for Harvey's murder.
In the other side of the city, Falcone is trying to find out who stole his money and is zeroing in on Oswald, a.k.a. Penguin. Ivy Pepper also appears as an acquaintance of Selina's. Fish Mooney is making her move to take over Falcone's empire, as he started to alienate his lieutenants by charging too much to replace his lost money.
Setting that aside, the ratings for the mid-season finale of 'Gotham' came out as solid with an estimated 6.0 million viewers. The show continued its consistent ratings throughout the past six weeks and managed to finish at number two behind ABC's 'How to Get Away With Murder'.
'Gotham' stars Ben McKenzie as James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Jada Pinkett Smith as Fish Mooney, Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth, Zabryna Guevara as Sarah Essen, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle and more.
'Gotham' will resume airing on Jan. 5 2015 for a total of 22 episodes for its first season.
