'Gotham' New Cast & Trailer News: Cameron Monaghan's Joker Role Teased In Promo [VIDEO]
'Gotham' producers have recently confirmed that viewers will get to see Batman's most iconic villain before the end of the first season, or at the very least, a teaser of him.
It would seem that the show intends to keep their promise with the release of their new promo trailer for the show.
The trailer features the first look at the actor set to play the Joker in the series' next episode titled "The Blind Fortune Teller."
The network has released this synopsis for the episode:
"Gordon takes Dr. Leslie Thompkins (guest star Morena Baccarin) to the circus, but the day turns quickly when the circus comes under attack. Then, Falcone enlists Butch Gilzean to help Penguin with the night club, while Fish Mooney is otherwise occupied. Also, Bruce Wayne schedules a meeting with the Wayne Enterprises board in the all-new 'The Blind Fortune Teller' episode of GOTHAM airing Monday, Feb. 16 (8:00-9:00 ET/PT) on FOX. (GTH-116) (TV-14 D, L, V)."
The actor to play the "clown prince of crime" is 21-year-old Cameron Monaghan, known for his role on the show 'Shameless'.
On that note, the character will be named Jerome in the series.
The origin story of the Joker in the comics is so obscure and vague that the show will have a lot of free roam on how they choose to adapt him.
Viewers will be able to see the character brought to life in the next episode of 'Gotham'.
