'Gotham' New Cast News: 'Newsroom' Actor Chris Chalk Tapped to Play Young Lucius Fox
Adding to the large roster of DC characters in Fox's 'Gotham' will be Lucius Fox played by actor Chris Chalk, most recognized for his role in HBO's 'Newsroom'.
The network informed media outlets that he will appear in the second to last episode of the drama series with an option to return in the second season as a more pivotal character.
"Lucius Fox is Wayne Enterprises' resident tech genius. In a corporation shadowed by nefarious dealings, Fox emerges as a moral beacon for young Bruce Wayne. His desire to help Bruce uphold Thomas Wayne's legacy eventually will earn him a spot as one of the boy's most important confidants. Indeed, in the comics, Fox goes on to become Wayne Enterprises President/CEO when Bruce Wayne becomes Batman. The role was played by Morgan Freeman in the Dark Knight trilogy," writes Deadline.
The Lucius Fox that will be portrayed in 'Gotham' will of course be a younger interpretation of the character. He is described as a "moral beacon" for Bruce, who like him, looks to uphold his father's legacy.
'Gotham' is currently on a short hiatus, but will return properly scheduled on April 13th for its last four episodes.
