'Gotham' Cast News, Plot Spoilers: The Penguin Revealed as The Joker?
Some recent speculation has surfaced about one of the character's from FOX's 'Gotham' television series.
A recently popular Reddit fan theory has apparently become widespread in that it assumes the character The Penguin, also known as Oswald Cobblepot, will actually turn out to be the The Joker.
Most believe the theory to be fairly convincing on that it relies on the theory that The Penguin was once presumably dead, leaving The "real" Penguin to assume the actual character. The theory also goes into depth on the character having many of the same traits and nuances as the Joker in the comics.
Actor Robin Lord Taylor took to an interview with MTV to address the issue.
He said, "I find it incredibly unlikely, but at the same time, I have no idea what could happen. I get the scripts and I'll read something, and I will be just as shocked as everyone else is when they see it happen onscreen."
He also reported to be impressed on the thoroughness of the actual theory. Robin is only an actor in the series and has no say or handle on what happens in the script.
In an event that something like this happened, it would be wise for the producers to make an effort to keep most of the actors in the dark just so something couldn't slip.
Either way the rumor is mostly flawed as in the series currently, The Penguin is confirmed to be alive and still active on the show. It would be a huge stretch if something like that happens.
On that note, the Joker has not been confirmed or even remotely teased in the show as of yet.
Fan's urgency for the famed character will just have to be cooled as the producers work out how and if they will bring him in.
'Gotham' airs every Monday night on FOX.
