Gospel World Rocked by Tragic Death of Dr. Myles Munroe & Wife in Plane Crash; Music Stars Speak Out [VIDEO]
Internationally known author, Bible teacher, and leadership mentor - Dr. Myles Munroe, his wife Ruth and others were killed in a plane that crashed in Grand Bahama, Sunday afternoon, and some of gospel music's biggest names are publicly sharing their grief.
The crash killed all nine people on board the private jet as it reportedly struck a crane at the Grand Bahama Ship Yard, exploding on impact and crashing into the ground near a junkyard area. Dr. Munroe was reportedly on his way to a Global Leadership Forum he was heading.
Gospel singer and 'Preachers of L.A.' star Deitrick Haddon took to Facebook to share with his followers the reaction to the sad news. "My heart is heavy and my eyes are filled with tears over the loss of such a powerful man of God!" he wrote, "I read all of his books on the Kingdom and they opened my mind to the true concept of the kingdom. My prayers are with the family & the extended church family!!"
Another Gospel legend, Marvin Sapp likewise shared on social media. "My heart is heavy after hearing about the passing of Dr. Myles Monroe. Really shook by this news ?#"ŽPraying4Understanding," he noted.
Yolanda Adams took to Facebook with her comments as well. "My heart is extremely heavy upon hearing of the passing of my Dear Friend Dr. Myles Munroe and his Family and Staff, the powerhouse singer said, "An Encourager and Inspirer to all He knew. May the LORD GRANT SOLACE AND COMFORT TO THOSE WHO MOURN WITH ME!!"
Worship leader and singer Ron Kenoly had a very close relationship with the Dr. and expressed his grief online as well. "Myles and Ruth were close and dear friends to my family and I," he wrote on Facebook, "We worked together, we ministered together, and we stayed up many nights discussing Scripture, encouraging each other and celebrating the favor of our Heavenly Father upon our lives...Myles, you have always been a pillar of strength and a consistent encouragement to my family and I."
Kenoly went on to say, "Myles, I will always remember you for your charisma, eloquence of speech, long stories, wisdom and excellent delivery. You have set a very high standard for us to maintain."
