Gospel Singer & Pastor Donnie McClurkin Implores For Prayers After Suffering Another Death in His Family [VIDEO]
The McClurkin family has suffered a great loss recently and now with the passing of his sister Cheri, gospel icon Pastor Donnie McClurkin is asking for prayers and pleading with God to help him get through.
McClurkin lost his mother in 2014 and then just 10 months after, lost his father. Unfortunately tragedy was not over for the award winning singer, he also lost an uncle and aunt and then his mentor in music the legendary Andre Crouch this year (Watch McClurkin talk about Crouch HERE). The New York Pastor did not get time to heal from it all because on Tuesday he announced that his sister Cheri has now too gone to be with the Lord.
McClurkin is always very honest on social media about his feelings and asked fans to please understand if he went off of the radar for a bit. "I'd like to thank you all for the love and care you're showing for my departed sister CHERI McCLURKIN....This is a devastating time for myself and my family...I will no be available by Facebook posts or messager...I will not be responding for a while and thank you for understanding and for respecting my shut down and privacy~! To the friends who have remained close to Cheri and myself...thank you so much ...God bless you all~! My sister now RESTS IN PEACE~!" he wrote on Facebook.
Despite all of the heartache, McClurkin has managed to keep the faith and continue his work for the Lord. During this time all he is asking for is that his supporters keep him and his family in prayer. In the last hours of the night the minister took to Facebook to share his heart.
"I'm just sitting in my car on the side of a road somewhere...fighting with myself and the feeling like I'm losing my grip and my mind....seriously...hating to go home alone ....my heart is broken and I'm crying while looking at picture after picture that everyone posts of CHERI ... its too much for me right now," he wrote, "My heart is really hurting...I LOVE YOU, CHERI ...this isn't reall...it's not happening like this...not again. I praised God so hard ... this isn't supposed to have happened...it ...just forget it. I just had to get this off of my mind and heart...since i have no one to talk with at this moment. and please....no stupid offers for me to reach out to you all.... just pray for me! Help me, lord...please!"
