Gospel singer Fred Hammond took to his Facebook page to testify of God's faithfulness as he underwent major knee surgery.

Hammond asked for prayers from his supporters early on Friday as he went into surgery to replace both of his knees, a very sensitive surgery that lasted a total of three and a half hours.

"3.5 hours later family, I'm DONE!!!! All went well! Thanks to a great doctor and his staff, an epidural and IV of tequila don't trip LOL Thank you ... I'm a little Zooted but I got new knees!!! Lol," he jokingly posted.

With nothing but time on his hands the singer refused to stay in a hospital bed and stay confined. He is at the very beginning of his recuperation process with physical therapy training, and as his body is recovering from the surgery. In the meantime he has also been using his social media to encourage others of the goodness of God.

He took to Facebook on Monday with a remarkable testimony that he hoped would inspire his 700,000. He began the post with the story of his humble beginnings and revealed that his dream of a singer started 23 years ago with his first solo CD.

"Back then I couldn't afford a booking agent so I put my home number on the back of the CD," he wrote. "I was married at the time and my wife and daughter BreeAnn (2years old) all slept in the same room due to the house being so small."

He went on to tell about a time he received a call at 2:00 am from two young men that never thought he would answer. They were just big fans and were hoping to hear his voice on the answering machine. He answered the phone and began to chat with them.

"We chatted for a few more minutes and I reminded them to keep the Lord first and continue to get good grades" he then said they were very polite and grateful and hung up.

The post ended with the remarkable testimony of how one phone call that he answered politely in the middle of the night years ago would be instrumental in the favor that he received during this his knee surgery.

Around 22 years later he happened to cross paths with those two young boys, that he encouraged way back the. When they saw him limping they inquired and then told him they would like to help because they remember his kindness years ago.

Both young men are now in there 40s. One is a consultant to sports companies and pro athletes and the other, a leading orthopedic specialists in Texas.

He went on to testify that because he was polite at a time he could have been rude he was shown favor. "Last Friday gave me and my family first-class treatment and opened up/operated on both my knees and put brand-new ones in them," adding, "And you know hospital stays and operations of any kind can be expensive and the brother has blessed me financially in that way as well."

He ended his post with the resonating phrase "LOOK AT GOD!!!!!"
