Gospel Artist Bryan Popin Honored At 2018 ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards For His Hit Single "I Got Out"
Independent recording artist Bryan Popin has been honored for his chart-topping hit gospel song "I Got Out" at the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publisher's signature urban music event, the 31stAnnual ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards that took place last weekend at The Beverly Wilshire in Los Angeles.
"I Got Out," co-written by Bryan and Susan Popin, was the second single from the New Jersey-native's 2017 sophomore project, I Got Out, which achieved No. 1 on Billboard. The single reached No. 4 on Billboard's Gospel Airplay chart and spent over 20 weeks in the Top 10, and the song has earned the songwriter and producer recognition and numerous award nominations.
Other artists and celebrities in the audience at the 2018 ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards included Jermaine Dupri, Migos, XSCAPE, 2 Chainz, Jason "Poo Bear" Boyd, Jeremih, Meek Mill, Mark "Sounwave" Spears, Yo Gotti, Priscilla Renea, DeJ Loaf, Supa Dups, Amber "Sevyn" Streeter, Christian "Hitmaka" Ward, Brandy, Tamar Braxton, Serayah, Rotimi and Kevin Gates, among others. The event was sponsored in part by Ciroc, Logitech and Sound Royalties.
Earlier this year, Popin celebrated his fourth career Top 30 single on Billboard and fourth Top 25 single at radio with his "Step In The Name," preceded by his singles "I Can Make It," "Such A Time As This," as well as "I Got Out." Nicknamed "Little Boy Wonder" by the legendary artist Stevie Wonder, Popin continues to impress with his songwriting, keyboard skills, and vocal flow.
