GoPro Hero 5 Release Date News: Karma Drone As Navy Seal, Fourth-Quarter Revenue Drops

Despite a decline in GoPro's fourth-quarter revenues, GO Pro Hero 5 has unveiled its most recent add-on feature at the CES 2016 event, the Karma drone.

The latest GoPro Hero 5 is built to share its capacities with the new GoPro Karma drone, according to Crossmap. As per the publication, its small size, portability, and compatibility raise Go Pro Hero 5 as the most versatile camera to be built.

In fact, the GoPro Hero 5 is now also viewed as the first Navy Seal-like camera, as it can now capture images in land, water, and air, with Karma drone. It is revealed that with the Karma drone's waterproof, one could also take images around 60 to 100 meter under water surface level.

In other news, GoPro's estimated revenue for the fourth quarter reportedly went below market expectations, which was associated to the underwhelming sales of its action cameras, as per Telegraph UK. According the publication, the company would reduce seven percent of its workforce and send its shares into free fall.

For its fourth-quarter sales, GoPro reportedly expected an estimated revenue of $435 million. However, it was inferior to the analysts' mean estimated of $511.9 million.

GoPro Chief Executive Officer Nick Woodman has shared his insights on the adaptability of the Karma drone with the older GoPro models. In his interview with Engadget, Woodman said that they made everything backwards compatible, adding that their goal was that the older GoPro would work with anything new they made, and vice versa.

With Woodman's revelation on boosting the compatibility of old and new GoPro models, it is assumed that the company's revenue will prevent further decline.
