GoPro Hero 4 Release Date, Specs News: Camera to Capture 4K Resolution Photos, Videos
GoPro manufactures world-class small cameras that are mostly used for taking action photography. As GoPro released its earlier cameras, the Hero 2, Hero 3 and Hero 3+, in the last quarter of the corresponding years, it was speculated that the much-anticipated GoPro Hero 4 will arrive sometime in October 2014. However, new reports are saying that the release date of the device has been pushed back to March 2015.
The Hero 3 is equipped with an ARM A7 processor, and it is believed that the Hero 4 may be packed with a new Cortex-A9 processor chip along with an FPU accelerator. The device is very likely to have an upgraded processor because the newer chip will enable the Hero 4 to capture photos and videos at 4K resolution. At the same time, it will be possible to shoot video in 30fps with Hero 4, while with the Hero 3, 4K video capture was only possible at 15fps.
In fact, the Hero 4 is capable of recording videos at a lower resolution which results in a higher frame rate - 1080p at 120fps or 720p at 240fps, enabling users to record full HD videos at smoother frame rates, especially with high-speed sports and activities.
It is also rumored that the GoPro Hero 4 will have a 13-megapixel photo-sensor, which will allow the camera to take photos and videos in low light and even in darkness, making it especially useful for late night high-speed drives or other nighttime related activities.
Moreover, it is also expected that the GoPro Hero 4 will come with interesting features like multi-exposure as well as HDR WDR tone mapping, improved MCTF, in addition to an electronic image stabilizer. This camera may also come with waterproof housing and a flat lens feature for underwater shots of up to 60m deep.
Fans expect the camera to have the ability to capture still images in video shoots and may support H.264, MP, BP, MJPEG and HP Level 5.1 formats.
The camera may be available in silver, black or white.
