Google 2015 Nexus 6 News, Rumors: Analyst Claims Huawei will Manufacture New Low-End Nexus Smartphone

A recent report quotes an analyst saying that Google is currently working with the Chinese tech manufacturer Huawei for creating its upcoming Nexus smartphone, which is expected to be released later in 2015. It is speculated that the budget smartphone will succeed the LG Nexus 5, which was released in 2013, and not the Nexus 6, which was released in 2014.

A report in the IB Times says that earlier rumors suggested that Google was likely to entrust Huawei with the task of manufacturing a 2015 Nexus model. Confirming earlier reports in tech blog site GizmoChina, Kevin Yang, director of a Chinese analyst firm iSuppli, said that the purported Nexus 6 will run a new version of Google's operating system that has been code named Android M.

It is reported that Huawei is considering whether or not to incorporate its own proprietary processor in the lower-priced Nexus. GizmoChina reported that alternatively the Chinese manufacturer may use a Qualcomm chip for the purported low-end Nexus 6.

However, Yang only talked about half of the prevailing rumors. In fact, the second half of the rumors relating to the purported Nexus 6 says that Google is actually planning to create and release two Nexus smartphones in 2015. According to earlier reports, South Korean tech giant LG Electronics is also likely to collaborate with Google to make a premium Android M flagship smartphone, which will be more similar to the existing Google Nexus 6.

While Nexus 6 manufactured by Motorola and released in 2014 fall has received positive reviews, Google claimed that sales have been hindered due to issues related to production. In addition, the Nexus 6 (2014) carried a higher price tag compared to its predecessors such as the LG-made Nexus 5 (2013) and Nexus 4 (2012).
