Google Project Nova News: New Mobile Network Service Exclusively for Nexus Coming Soon

Google is working to start its own mobile phone service, which has been code named 'Project Nova'. While there were reports in this regard earlier this year, the search engine giant has just confirmed this news at the recently concluded Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 in Barcelona, Spain.

The Wall Street Journal says that the upcoming service will be exclusively available on the Nexus 6.

Apparently, it is a bizarre idea to limit an entire phone network to just one device. However, this is going to be a soft launch for the Mountain View, California-based tech company, which will be requiring some tight control of hardware as well as software.

According to Google, 'Project Nova' will be using different mobile phone networks together with Wi-Fi signals with a view to offer the best service to its clients.

In the United States, T-Mobile and Sprint's networks will power the 'Project Nova'. In addition, the mobile network service will also require some additional Wi-Fi power too with a view to keep the "virtual network" of the tech titan running.

According to the report, Google wants to restrict the upcoming mobile network to the Nexus 6 alone as it will allow Google to closely scrutinize the manner in which the hardware and software interact with the new service - "Nova."

While much information regarding the new mobile network service is not available at the moment, all that is known at this point of time is that Nova will come with a special feature - it will automatically redial if a call has been cut mid-conversation.

For now, Nova has been confirmed as a U.S service, but it may be extended to other territories in the future.
