Google Nexus 2016 Release News, Rumors: Google Now On Tap A Dominating Feature In New Nexus

It seems the search engine giant is bent on promoting the Google Now on Tap in the new Nexus 2016, according to the latest news report.

An article from Android Police finally provided an answer to what has been teased as the new home button for the Nexus 2016. The button carries the signature colors of the Chrome browser, and it suggested that this would be the new Google Assistant, which the company has been tantalizing the public with for a little while now.

Apparently, when you press hard on the button, the four little colors disperse and shut down. To turn them on again, you need to press again the home button.

Of course, the company is not responding to all the rumors and news reports regarding the Google Nexus 2016 so there's really no way of knowing whether this article from Android Police has some bearing in it.

Meanwhile, in other news, the Google Nexus 2016 might not be run by Android Nougat, which was released to developers as beta in July. Then there were rumors that the new phone will be rolled out this month.

However, there's no basis to the rumors, which may have started from a leak that tipster Evan Blass gave. He then clarified later that he was referring to the security patch in the Android Nougat, not the release of the OS itself.

It would be premature to believe any of the rumors regarding the release date of the Google Nexus 2016 without first knowing when the Android Nougat will be launched. For now, everybody still has to wait some more.
