Google Nexus 2016 News & Update: Flagship Is Arriving Soon And It’s Going To Cost You?

Two new phones under the Google Nexus 2016 flagship will reportedly ship in October this year and the alleged prices are already leaked by a blog dedicated to any news on the brand.

According to Nexus Blog, alleged insiders who work in HTC have leaked the prices for the Sailfish and Marlin, the codenames of both the Google Nexus phones.

If the news report is to be believed, the 32 GB version of the Google Nexus 2016 (Marlin) will sell at $599 while the Sailfish will fetch a fair value of $449.

Sadly, there's no news on other versions apart from the 32 GB option, although it's a lock that there's also going to be a 64 GB Google Nexus 2016. According to the blogsite, the $449 is such a good price point for the new phone that it's likely that it will break the sales of the Nexus 5 three years ago.

Both the Sailfish and Marlin are indeed priced higher than their predecessors, but not by much. For instance, said Phone Arena, the 32 GB Nexus 5X cost $429. The Nexus 6P, meanwhile, cost $499. That means both the Marlin and Sailfish will only cost about $100 and $20 more.

At this point, it's very likely that the iPhone 7 will be launched earlier than the Google Nexus 2016 as news point to a Sept. 7 launch for the Apple flagship. The iPhone 7 reportedly will have between 32 GB to 254 GB models so there's plenty of time for Google to catch up.
