Google Nexus (2015) Release Date News: Nexus 6 Price Cut Hints New Google Devices May Come Soon

It has been a pattern with Google to drop the price of its flagship smartphone ahead of the launch of a new device. However, the LG Nexus (2013) was the sole exception, as the smartphone was discontinued after dominating the marker for more than a year without offering a single deal. Recently, Google's dropped the price of its current flagship device, the Nexus 6, several months before unveiling the Nexus 5 (2015) and the Nexus 6 (2015).

According to IB Times, the Motorola Nexus 6 is sold at just €489 (about $752) instead of €589 ($905) in Germany via a promotional code DESUMMERSALE3 and the offer remains valid till Aug. 31.

It is worth mentioning here that the Nexus 6 received first price cut over a month back with Google Play Store offering the 32GB version of the device for $499 in the U.S. against the original price of $649, while the 64GB version was offered for $549 against $699. The device received another price cut in the U.K. in July when the 32 GB model was available for only £304 ($475) against the original price of £479. Similarly, the 64 GB model was sold for £379 ($531) against £549.

The most recent price cut for Nexus 6 can be consider to be an indication that the Nexus 5 (2015) is likely to arrive soon.

While Google continues to be mum about its upcoming devices, there are reports that claim they will be coming soon. According to the Korean website Post (via GforGames), the upcoming Google devices will be launched on Sept. 29. This contradicts earlier reports that it would be unveiled in October or November.

Meanwhile, Android Police reported that LG Electronics will make the Nexus 5 (2015) under the codename "LG Bullhead," while Huawei will make Nexus 6 successor under the codename "Huawei Angler".

Moreover, there have been reports that the Nexus 5 (2015) will come with a 5.2-inch screen with 1440 x 2560 pixels, and will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 processor. The new Google device will come packed with 3 GB RAM, feature a 13-megapixel rear camera alongside a 2-megapixel secondary front-facing snapper, house a non-removable 2300 mAh battery, and incorporate fingerprint sensor and Android Pay.

Meanwhile, GizmoChina reports that the upcoming device will include features like 64 GB internal memory, 4 GB RAM, 13-megapixel main camera, 4-megapixel front snapper, a 3180 mAh battery unit, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2., and USB Type-C connector.

MobiPicker reports that in contrast, the Nexus 6 (2015) is likely to come with a 5.7-inch OLED screen with 1440 x 2560 pixels, powered by Snapdragon 810 processor and house a 3500mAh battery.
