Google Assistant Latest News & Update: App Seeks To Dominate AI Field
The Google Assistant will soon be opened to developers next month so they can build customized actions for the app, according to the latest news report.
This is quite significant as the search engine giant seeks to dominate the field with its machine-learning program. Google has been obsessed about the uses of AI and how it can be maximized to make lives easier and more efficient. This is just another step toward that direction.
According to Forbes, the release of the Google Assistant code to developers would be bad news for Apple's Siri or Alexa by Amazon because it means Google is ready to compete with the big boys. This will open the floodgates for countless applications for the app across platforms.
The Pixel and Pixel XL are the first phones with built-in Google Assistant, but other Android users need not fret since the AI feature will soon come to their devices.
The Google Assistant works much like Siri or Alexa although based on a better platform, especially with its search engine technology and the Google Maps. Whether you need the latest news, the best restaurants near the area, lost in an unfamiliar place, sharing a photo with family and friends, make a movie or restaurant reservation, this feature will do it all for you.
"Ask it anything," the Google Assistant website said. "Search for the capital of Botswana or find translations in over 100 languages. Ask your Assistant for your flight status, and what the weather's like when you get there."
Watch out for more Google Assistant news, which will be published here when they come along.
