Golden State Warriors vs New Orleans Pelicans Preview, Live Stream Link: How to Watch NBA Game Online
The respective superstars of the New Orleans Pelicans and the Golden State Warriors were right about their prognosis for the rest of the series after the Warriors eked past the Pelicans in Game 2 for a 2-0 series lead.
"We know that we can beat this team. We were right there," Anthony Davis said of the first two games, the second of which, they had the lead with about four minutes left.
"The kind of grind-it-out kind of feel that these game were [in Oakland], you expect it's gonna be the exact same thing if not tougher in New Orleans. I'm sure they'll get some life being at home and feeling their home crowd. We know it's not gonna be easy regardless of how well we play," Steph Curry said for his part.
And boy, were they right. After the Warriors got off to a fast start in Game 3, the Pelicans rode a 19-0 run to lead by double digits. They led by 20 to start the final quarter as the Pelicans looked poised for the win.
But the Warriors are the Warriors, and they climbed all the way back to within two with 9.6 seconds left and Davis at the line to try and seal the win. He missed a free throw that gave the Warriors a chance to tie.
They did via an incredible, contested corner three from Curry, and they went to overtime, where they pulled out a 123-119 win in a wild game that gave them a 3-0 lead and a chance to sweep Saturday.
The Pelicans are young enough to shrug what could have been. The franchise is in the playoffs for the first time since 2011, and this young core is in it for the first time in the Davis era.
They will have to play as well as they played in Game 3 to have a chance, but the Warriors have proven all season long that they are a team with a date with destiny.
Game 4 is Saturday at 8:00 pm ET, you can catch the action via live stream here.
