Golden Globes 2016: What To Expect, Air Time, Channel: ‘The Office’s’ Ricky Gervais Emcees The Event
The Golden Globes 2016 is happening soon and here are the details about the upcoming event.
According to Gold Derby, the Golden Globe is set to air live from the Beverly Hilton on NBC at 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET on Jan. 10. "The Office" writer Ricky Gervais is going to emcee the event, following a three-year break, according to the publication.
At 6 p.m., E!News' Giuliana Rancic and Ryan Seacrest are set to cover the event, as per The Washington Post. Then at 7 p.m., NBC's red carper show will commence, which is hosted by "Entourage's" Matt Lauer, "Today's" Savannah Guthrie and Tamron Hall, and "Gospel Bill's" Willie Geist. At 8 p.m., the "Fashion Police's" Rancic, NeNe Leakes, Margaret Cho, Melissa Rivers, and Brad Goreski will get together.
The Golden Globes recognizes the best among the films and television series in 2015 and 14 films and 11 television series are going to receive the accolades. It predicted that Tom McCarthy's historical biopic "Spotlight," Adam McKay's drama biopic "The Big Short," and David Benioff and D.B. Weiss' adventure fantasy series "Game of Thrones" are set to receive some awards in the event, according to The Washington Post.
The accolades to be given will be previewed by publication editors at 6 p.m. ET and viewers may also join some live discussions in various message boards. In Gol Derby, fans may compete by making some predictions to win prizes like a $100 Amazon gift certificate, an honorable position on the leaderboard, and a starring role in the Top 24 Users next year.
