Golden Globe Awards 2015 Winners Predictions, Live Stream Info
As far as movies are concerned, it has been acknowledged that Golden Globe Awards is the second best thing after the Academy Awards. What adds more importance to the Golden Globe Awards is the fact that this award is also given by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) and also honors people for excellence in the small screen too. Moreover, the hosts of the Golden Globe Awards are always a fun to watch and, this year, the show will be hosted by the comic duo Tiny Fey and Amy Poehler.
A report in Christian Today, quotes Fey and Poehler, who will be hosting the awards for the third time, saying that "the Golden Globes is one event where the beautiful people of film rub shoulders with the rat-faced people of television."
Confirming the news that she will be hosting the show this time too, Poehler jokingly told 'The Today Show', "Unless you want to be a perennial host, there's nowhere to go but down."
Meanwhile, the 93 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association Awards are responsible for nominating the potential awardees. The HFPA is basically an organization of journalists from across the world representing 55 countries in different continents. The members take active participation in more than 300 interviews, film and TV screenings each year.
The nominees for the 72nd Golden Globe Award were announced on Dec. 12, 2014. Altogether, awards will be given to people for excellence in 25 categories - 14 for film and 11 for television. The final voting began on Dec. 22 and ended on Jan. 7. The awards will be presented at a glittering ceremony scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 11, in Los Angeles.
It is interesting to note that this year may unexpected contenders have found place in the awards list, while those expected are missing, making the Golden Globe Awards 2015 a somewhat free-for-all affair. While the popular political thriller on Showtime 'Homeland' was ignored for Best TV Drama, only Claire Danes has been recognized for her acting skills in the show.
Although the 'Game of Thrones' has been nominated for the Best TV Drama award, predictions are that 'The Affair' will emerge as the winner.
It is also being anticipated that 'Selma' has a bright prospect of winning the Best Motion Drama in the film category. Similarly, the prospects of 'Birdman' are also bright for winning a number of awards this year.
Fans can watch the Golden Globes live from Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on Jan. 11 at 6 pm and can be watched by clicking here.
