BreatheCast caught up with "God's Not Dead" lead actor and the movie's producers at the K-LOVE Fan awards. The film took home an award for "Best Christian Media" that night, the very same weekend it had reached the $60 million mark at the box office.
Lead actor Shane Harper chatted with BreatheCast at the 2014 K-LOVE Fan Awards about the movie's nomination, his favorite band, and his upcoming music.
When asked if Harper thought they would win the award he humbly responded, "We're up against some really tough competition so we'll see what happens."
He expressed that he was extremely excited to see one of his favorite bands, Switchfoot perform at the K-LOVE Fan Awards. "I love watching Switchfoot, they're the best." He went on to say, "We're both from San Diego so there's that brother hood thing I feel, we're from the same town. I always watch them play"
Harper, who is not only an actor but a singer as well, revealed that he had some music coming out in the near future. "I'm working on a new Ep/Album it should be out in a few months," Harper said.
Joining BreatheCast soon after on the red carpet were "God's Not Dead" producers Michael Scott, David A.R. White and his wife, the actress, Andrea Logan White.
David A.R. White who also starred in the movie expressed his appreciation. "It's been amazing to see how the public responded to this movie," he said.
The actor/producer told BreatheCast that someone recently sent them a picture of a bus in London that featured the billboard for "God's Not Dead" because the film was recently released internationally. White said, "It's been pretty cool," the fact that the film is spreading around the world is "amazing."
The group disclosed they were excited to see the Newsboys perform and also added that they wanted to see them win at the K-LOVE Awards. Newsboys went on to win Group/Duo of The Year that evening and "God's Not Dead" won the Film/Television Impact Award.
White assured fans that if they liked "God's Not Dead" they could visit Pureflix.com to see what other "faith life affirming films" are in the works. Scott added that the DVD release of "God's Not Dead" is hitting stores August 5th.
