'God's Not Dead 2' Movie Premiere News: Newsboys Hosts A Star-Studded Red Carpet Event In Nashville
The Newsboys hosted a star-studded premiere for "God's Not Dead 2" at the iconic Franklin Theater in Nashville recently.
The Christian band contributed to the soundtrack of the Pure Flix movie, as well as making a cameo.
The red carpet premiere of "God's Not Dead 2" was also attended by actors Brian Schaefer, David A.R. White and Abigail Duhon. Members of the Audio Adrenaline, comedian Chonda Pierce, songwriter John Tibbs, Ryan Stevenson, singer Kolby Koloff and Zach Hall, the producer of "Love Riot," also showed up at the Newsboys-hosted event.
"God's Not Dead 2" was a surprise hit as it stood toe-to-toe with a huge blockbuster such as "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" and on pace to earn double digits on opening weekend.
"That's a lot more than the original and we were initially planning, but we think it's the right play, based on what we're seeing," Ken Rather, Regal Entertainment VP of Film, told The Wrap.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, "The Pureflix film centers on a Christian public school teacher (Melissa Joan Hart) who appears in court before a jury and judge for answering a a student's question about the similarities of the teachings of Jesus to those of Martin Luther King and Mahatma Gandhi."
"God's Not Dead 2" stars Melissa Joan Hart, Jesse Metcalf, Robin Givens, Pat Boone, Ernie Hudson, Sadie Robertson, David A.R. White, Maria Canals-Barrera, Hayley Orrantia, and the late Fred Thompson.
The Newsboys contributed "Guilty" for "God's Note Dead 2."
"Love Riot also showcases the title-cut, a call to reach the world with love; the worshipful 'You Hold It All (Every Mountain);' and the adrenaline-pumping 'Crazy,' an anthem inspiring believers to live radically for Christ, among other songs," according to the press release.
