Sony Computer Entertainment started the 'God of War' franchise in 2005 and the first game was released for the PlayStation 2 console. Subsequently, there were two sequels of the franchise and now Sony has announced that it will be re-mastering 'God of War III' for release on PlayStation 4.

Latin Post reports that according to details posted on the official PlayStation blog, the re-mastered version of the 2010 video game will be modified to appear in full 1080p at 60 frames per second (fps). The new game is slated for July 14 release.

Gematsu reports that the game will have superior visuals all throughout. In addition, combat between enemies will be smoother, while the weapons will be more responsive.

Different from the original 'God of War III,' the re-mastered version will actually be a photo mode, which will enable gamers to share their entire favorite moments in re-mastered 'God of War III' with their friends.

According to reports, the re-mastered version of 'God of War III' will give more attention to realism as well as lighting. Numerous lights and textures will help the developers create a resolution that is four-fold more compared to the original game.

Players will be able to ride a number of the creatures in the upcoming game. However, the creatures will not like by Kratos to ride them, but it is possible to manipulate them. In addition, the remastered version of 'God of War III' will allow the gamers to use the creatures to cross gaps in maps and also attack enemies.

After its release in North America on July 14, 'God of War III' re-mastered edition will arrive in Europe on the following day - July 15. The game will be released in the U.K. on July 17. 'God of War III' re-mastered edition will sell for $39.99 in North America.
