'God of War 3' News: Remastered Version on PS4 Launches July 14
The 'God of War' series of games has not seen a new title in the last five years, but that does not mean that the developers have forgotten about the franchise. Recently, Sony Santa Monica's Creative Director Cory Barlog left a post on the Playstation Blog announcing a July 14 release for a remastered version of 'God of War 3'.
Fans are wondering about the reason for this unexpected comeback as it had already been successful back in 2010. Barlog has mentioned that there is more to expect with the remastered game especially on Sony's new console.
"Remasters often help us open the door to new players who perhaps did not play 'God of War 3' five years ago, but who we can bring it to on the PlayStation 4," said Sony's Aaron Kaufman, "People often forget, the more players we can bring into a franchise, the better for everyone. At Santa Monica Studio, we'd like as many PlayStation fans to experience our games as possible, form generation to generation."
Stepping back to Barlog, he wrote, "This action packed thrill ride of a game will take series newcomers and regulars alike on a retina-popping thrill ride filled to the absolute brim with 1080p gameplay, silky smooth combat, earth-shaking weapons, bosses you simply have to face to believe, and an all-new new photo mode so you can share those most tender of God of War moments, like stabbing a Minotaur in the frickin face, with your friends and loved ones."
While the development team is hard at work with the completion of game, fans are still waiting patiently for the next installment to happen. Many have hoped that a preview would be available for this year's E3 convention in Los Angeles. On the contrary, the popular gaming news network, IGN, has gotten answers from Barlog back in December that he is hoping to provide additional news within the next two years.
