'Glee' Season 6 Premiere Recap, Spoilers: Final Series Installment Gets Warm Reception

The sixth season of the music-based show 'Glee' premiered on January 9th, which marks the beginning of the end, as Season 6 is the final installment in the series.

The show stole many viewers' hearts with the story of a high school teacher who starts up a glee club for promising students who find their own voices, all while sharing their personal stories with each other. The show addresses social issues common among young people today, such as gender identity and bullying.

The season's first episode is a two-parter, highlighting the lives of the characters viewers have come to know and love. Notorious for its heart-wrenching storyline, 'Glee' Season 6 does not shy away from tear-inducing scenes.

The first half of the season premiere catches viewers up on how things have been with the cast between the end of season five and the start of season six. Taking a departure from the upbeat musicality 'Glee' is known for, this half of the season opener is more solemn.

Part two features more songs and antics with some old favorites as well as some new cast members. Playing with the fact that the show is coming to a close, actress Lea Michele bursts out a rendition of the song "Let It Go" from Disney's film, 'Frozen'.

Michele is not the only cast member returning for the show's farewell season. Jenna Auschwitz, Jayma Mays, Mark Salling, and Dianna Agron are set to appear. Jane Lynch will also return, as well as Gina Gershon.

The final season of 'Glee' is composed of thirteen episodes, and will air on Fox at 9 pm on Friday nights.
