'Glee' Finale Spoilers, Air Date News: 'Gleek' Favorite Jesse St. James Returns for Final Season
Fans of Fox's "Glee" haven't seen character Jesse St. James since Season 3 when he was director for New Direction's rival Vocal Adrenaline. However, E! confirmed earlier today, February 20, that Jesse will return for the show's finale.
Lea Michele, who plays Rachel in the series, tweeted a picture of her and Johnathon Groff (Jesse) on the set of the show on February 19. Her tweet said, ""A very special day at #Glee today! Only 3 more days left! And look who stopped by! #JGroff #JesseStJames." According to sources, Groff has mentioned in past interviews that he wanted to return for the show, but nothing was set in stone until today.
Fans of the show are hoping the two characters end up together during the finale since the two have had chemistry before when Jesse and Rachel was a power couple in the first season. Since the tragic death of Cory Monteith, who played Finn Hudson, viewers were curious to see how the show would end without him being a part of Rachel's life.
Kevin McHale, known as Artie Abrams on the show, said the show would end well. In an interview with Billy Bush and Kit Hoover from Hollywood Access Live Thursday, he said, ""I'm satisfied...I think [viewers will] be happy. I was happy. They tie up a lot of great storylines and you get to see these people in a new light and follow their journey. These characters have gone through a lot and I think there's a good payoff at the end."
"Glee" airs on Fridays at 9/8C on Fox. The series finale will air on March 20.
