'Gilmore Girls' Returns On Netflix, Cast News: Lauren Graham, Mae Whitman Reunite In Series Revival
Someone is making a special cameo appearance in the four-part revival of "Gilmore Girls."
TV Line reported that Mae Whitman will reunite with Lauren Graham in the popular dramedy. For six seasons, Whitman played the role of Graham's daughter on "Parenthood." Since then, the two have remained close to each other in real life.
The specifics of Whitman's role in the revival remain in secrecy, but her social media accounts tell so much about her and her fans' enthusiasm for the next installation of the series.
Last summer, when Whitman met Alexis Bledel, the other on-screen daughter of Graham, at the "Gilmore Girls" reunion held in Austin, Texas, she posted a photo of their first meeting on Instagram. Aside from this photo, she also posted on Twitter another photo featuring the official cast of "Gilmore Girls Revival."
Whitman just recently finished shooting an episode for "The Mystery of Love & Sex" at L.A.'s Mark Taper Forum.
According to series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and executive producer Daniel Palladino, since each chapter of the upcoming revival will represent a different season of an entire calendar year, the titles of the episodes will be "Winter," "Spring," "Summer" and "Fall." Both of them will write and direct each of the 90-minute mini-movie.
They also revealed that the setting of the revival will be the present day, which is approximately eight years since the ending of the previous series. The production of the upcoming season, tentatively titled "Gilmore Girls" Seasons" is now in full swing in Los Angeles.
As of this writing, no official announcement has been made yet regarding the premiere date of the series.
