'Gilmore Girls' Movie News: Show Creator Says, 'Nothing in the Works at the Moment'

At the ATX Festival in Austin, Texas on Saturday, fans of Gilmore Girls had almost all of their wildest dreams come true.

A Gilmore Girls reunion took place, and it consisted of everything a fan of the series could want, except for the confirmation of the long discussed Gilmore Girls movie project and its development.

According to the creator of the show, Amy Sherman-Palladino, there are no plans in the works for changing the series into a movie at the moment.

"There is nothing in the works at the moment", stated Sherman Palladino at the event, which was sponsored by Entertainment Weekly.

Of course, this does not mean that something cannot happen in the future.

"Here's the good thing: Nobody here hates each other," continued Sherman Palladino. "It would have to be the right everything -- the right format, the right timing... It would have to be honored in a certain way, and if it ever came around, we would all jump in and do it. And if it ever happened, I promise you I'd do it correctly."

Back in May, the rumors of the possibility of a Gilmore Girls movie were ablaze after Scott Patterson, one of the actors in the show, said that there were "talks" of a film project on the Gilmore Girls podcast.

"I can't really go into any details, but there is some activity," said Patterson. "I'm hopeful and I'm in. I think it would be a big event, and I think it would be a great fan celebration."
