'Gilmore Girls' 2016 News: Milo Ventimiglia Set To Reprise His Role As Jess?

Actor Milo Ventimiglia is set to reprise his role in the Netflix revival of "Gilmore Girls," titled "Gilmore Girls: A Year In the Life."

In the original series, Ventimiglia played the role of Rory's love interest, Jess Mariano.

According to the actor, he has kept in touch with "Gilmore Girls" creator Amy Sherman-Palladino since the show ended a decade ago, and he was more than glad to learn that a revival of the series was actually in the works. He revealed that he was so ecstatic about it that he promised to drop whatever he was doing and fly in just to join the revival.

In his interview with E! Online, the actor expressed how excited he was to return to the show as Jess. He also revealed what happened to his character since the last time he was seen on the series.

"There's something about Jess that I always appreciated. It was at the very end that I thought for whatever angst, whatever broken spirit, whatever sly behavior he had, who he was at his core was a very, very good guy. I think that started to emerge as time went on. We got to the end of his existence on the show, you see him-he's not there for himself, to entertain himself, he's there to ask Rory real questions to get her thinking. I always respected that about the character," he told E! Online.

Asked about what viewers can expect from Jess when he returns, the actor revealed that he will already be a "really decent guy."

"I think who Jess turned out to be was just - he got to experience life and I think he became a really cool young guy."

"Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" premieres on November 25 on Netflix.
