'Ghostbusters' Reboot News: Filming Starts in Boston, Film’s Plot Revealed [VIDEO]

Initially, fans of original movies were skeptical about the 'Ghostbusters' reboot comprising an all-female cast. However, with the filming of the upcoming flick, which stars Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, Melissa McCarthy, and Kate McKinnon, already on in Boston, people are getting more and more intrigued.

A report in Christian Today states that the first video clip of the movie was recently revealed by Entertainment Tonight and it offers an indication regarding what the movie-goers can expect from the all-female 'Ghostbusters' reboot. In the brief video, fans can see Wiig in a '80s inspired outfit. This apart, CinemaBlend states that fans have captured more images from the shoot on Instagram, which offer a first look at McCarthy and McKinnon in their respective costumes.

In the meantime, an insider, who managed to acquire some select details regarding the film's spot, revealed to Boston Herald that Wiig and McCarthy will portray a pair of mysterious writers who had earlier published a book hypothesizing on the existence of ghosts. Many years later, Wiig gets a prestigious teaching assignment at New York's Columbia University, but when her earlier work is revealed, she is "laughed out of academia."

Nevertheless, when an army of supernatural beings invade the city, the Wiig and MacCarthy end up fastening their proton packs to protect the world. According to reports, McKinnon will portay McCarthy's new partner, while Jones will apparently portray the character of a subway worker who discovers one of the earliest supernatural occurrences in the new film.

In any case, the Ghostbusters are never complete without Janine, who is the receptionist of the group. In the all-female 'Ghostbusters' reboot, Chris Hemsworth will portray the receptionist is named Kevin.

The all-female 'Ghostbusters' reboot is slated to premiere on July 22, 2016.
