‘Ghostbusters’ Cast Confirmed News: Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon in Final Negotiations

Following several months of pre-production qualms and speculations, it appears that Paul Feig has finally made up his mind on the four leading ladies who will feature in his all-female 'Ghostbusters' remake.

IB Times says that the producers have already signed on Melissa McCarthy to play the leading role in the next gerneration of the ghost-hunting series, which is being written by Katie Dippold, who wrote the screenplay for 'The Heat,' and be directed by Feig.

According to the report, including Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon in the cast is really something new. In fact, Wiig has earlier worked with McCarthy and Feig on her hit comedy 'Bridesmaids' and had got her start on 'SNL,' which she left in 2012.

On the other hand, Jones joined the cast of 'SNL' in 2014 and has now been promoted to being a feature player. McKinnon, meanwhile, has been featuring in the show since the departure of Wiig. While the 'SNL' actresses are yet to be signed on officially like McCarthy, they are said to be in the final negotiations with the producers. According to Variety, Feig appears to be sure that the 'SNL' girls will be featuring in 'Ghostbusters' and he even went to the extent of tweeting four girls' photograph.

Interestingly enough, the casting news has suppressed numerous rumors involving some of the most important funny women of Hollywood, including actresses like Emma Stone, Mindy Kaling, and Rebel Wilson. At some point of time, all these three actors were seen at favorites for the roles in the upcoming 'Ghostbuster' reboot.

While there is plenty of casting new, there is no information regarding the plot of Feig's 'Ghostbusters' reboot. However, Feig had earlier said that the movie will be its individual story, instead of being a extension of the original movies.

Talking to Entertainment Weekly, Feig said, "I love the first one so much I don't want to do anything to ruin the memory of that. So it just felt like, let's just restart it because then we can have new dynamics." The director added, "I want the technology to be even cooler. I want it to be really scary, and I want it to happen in our world today that hasn't gone through it so it's like, oh my God what's going on?"

In January 2014, Feig told Empire that he will commence filming his latest "scary" reboot in New York City this summer.
