Ghost Rider News Update: 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Puts Its Own Spin On Ghost Rider?

In its previous season, Marvel's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." said goodbye to several of its major characters. However, a new face will join the series as it returns to ABC for its fourth season later this month.

Fans will get to meet in the season premiere the show's version of the popular comic book character Ghost Rider, who will be played by Gabriel Luna. According to reports, creators of the series are putting their own spin on the popular Marvel character. They initially teased that "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s" Ghost Rider is not the man portrayed by Nicolas Cage on the big screen.

"It's Robbie Reyes, which is a different run-- a very popular run of Ghost Rider-- who's not the Harley-riding Johnny Blaze," said Clark Gregg.

The character was first introduced in the comics in 2013. This version of Ghost Rider is a high school stude from East Los Angeles and drives his own Dodge Charger. In the upcoming series, his mode of transportation is not the only thing that will make Robbie Reyes stand out.

Daisy "Quale" Johnson portrayer Chloe Bennet revealed that the Ghost Rider that viewers will see in the series is a different version of a powered person.

"Everyone who's powered on our show, it's been rooted in something that Fitz and Simmons could prove through science and research. I'm curious to see how this take of Ghost Rider is going to be explained by our very logic thinking Fitz and Simmons," he said.

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." returns on September 20, 10:00 P.M. on ABC.
