George R.R. Martin News: Author Expresses Annoyance With Fans' 'Game of Thrones' Complaints

In a recent blog post, the 'Songs of Ice and Fire' author George R.R. Martin, has completely had it with the complaints of the highly watched HBO series.

With him tirelessly working to finish up the next book in the series, so much that he's decided to cancel any and all public appearances at expos or events, Martin just doesn't have the time nor patience for the fans' whining.

"It's no surprise to 'GoT' fans that this year has been full of heated debates and controversies over the latest episodes. Season 5 alone has (spoiler alert) been condemned for its Sansa rape scene and the violent death of Shireen Baratheon with constant, unending backlash resulting in viewers -- and U.S. senators -- quitting the show," writes Huffington Post.

Fans of the books or series have never been big fans as to how Martin treats his beloved characters, but with his hands out of this season of the show and next's, he wants fans to understand that he really isn't to blame.

On the author's blog titled 'Not a Blog,' he explains:

"Meanwhile, other wars are breaking out on other fronts, centered around the last few episodes of GAME OF THRONES. It is not my intention to get involved in those, nor to allow them to take over my blog and website, so please stop emailing me about them, or posting off-topic comments here on my Not A Blog. Wage those battles on Westeros, or Tower of the Hand, or Boiled Leather, or Winter Is Coming, or Watchers on the Walls. Anyplace that isn't here, actually.

"Yes, I know that THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER named me 'the third most powerful writer in Hollywood' last December. You would be surprised at how little that means. I cannot control what anyone else says or does, or make them stop saying or doing it, be it on the fannish or professional fronts. What I can control is what happens in my books, so I am going to return to that chapter I've been writing on THE WINDS OF WINTER now, thank you very much."

'Game of Thrones' wraps up its fifth season this Sunday and while things have gone bad for many of the characters already, the season finale always knows how to add the finishing touches.
