'Gears of War 4' News, Gameplay Rumors: New Trailer Revealed; Teases JD Fenix’s Origins [WATCH]
A new trailer for The Coalition's "The Gears of War 4" has been released and it is packed with gameplay details, along with the freshest look at JD Fenix. Along with the trailer's release is original creator Cliff Bleszinki's feedback to the game.
The said trailer for "The Gears of War 4" has surfaced online during the season 2 opener for AMC's "Fear the Walking Dead." It features Marcus Fenix son and game protagonist JD Fenix as a young boy and a man in combat.
"The Gears of War" original creator Bleszinski has also shared his thoughts, after seeing the trailer. On Apr. 12, Bleszinski wrote on Twitter that the trailer had made him "misty." "Even calling it "tomorrow" as in "we have a tomorrow" - that's what JD is to Marcus. Oh man," he wrote.
It is assumed that the new trailer for "The Gears of War 4" ignited Bleszinki's desire to play the game. On Apr. 11, he tweeted that he could not wait to play it, adding that the trailer suggested another homecoming plus more daddy issues. Based from his detail, it is assumed that fans could see a storyline involving JD and Marcus in the game.
According to Alphr, "The Gears of War 4" is set 25 years following "Gears of War 3" and it follows new protagonist JD as he faces the "swarm." As per the publication, a multiplayer beta for the game is also set to run from Apr. 18 to 24; however, players can access it if they have played "Gears of War: Ultimate Edition" on Xbox One or PC on or after Apr. 11.
The gameplay features JD and Kait battling a swarm of aliens at the gothic ruins. Interestingly, gamers can also encounter tinge of green hues, as opposed to the shades of brown and grey in the previous game installments. The game is also set to expose gamers to various weather conditions, such as light breeze and windstorms.
Developed by The Coalition for Xbox One, "The Gears of War 4" is set to be released in on Oct. 11 worldwide. Watch the trailer here.
