'Gears Of War 4' News & Update: Game Staff Talks What To Expect; ‘Game Of Thrones’ Composer Writes Soundtrack
Along with talks about "Game of Thrones" composer to write the soundtrack for The Coalition's "Gears of War 4," the staff behind the game talked about what fans could expect.
In his interview with IGN, The Coalition head Rod Fergusson said that "Gears of War 4"
Was basically a "Gears of War: The Next Genraton," addign that it was a start of a new saga and a new era.
In the same interview with the publication, The Coalition narrative producer Bonnie Jean Mah said that the difference between the game and the other games was that the game had new characters facing new situation. She added that the challenge was the new characters facing the new type of war for the very first time.
Mah also said that the game had been interesting, as they had looked at it with the tone and feeling when one got when players played their characters. She added that they honored the players' experience and the situations that arose from that.
In terms of the game controls, lead multiplayer designer Ryan Clean told IGN that the keyboard and mouse were really important to the studio. He said that they had definitely worked from the controller out, adding that they did play with with mouse and keyboard, but the core of the game was around a controller.
Previously, "Game of Thrones" composer Ramin Djwadi joined The Coalition to score the "Gears of War 4" soundtrack. In a statement, as cited by Rock Paper Shotgun, Djwadi said he had certainly wanted to stay in the direction fans knew and bring his own style to it.
"Gears of War 4" is set to be released for the Xbox One and Microsoft Windows on Oct. 11.
