'Gears Of War 4' Gone Gold News & Update: Free Game Copy Offered With Purchase Of Nvidia GTX Graphics Card
In line with The Coalition's "Gears of War 4," the game is set to come free with Nvidia's GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 graphics cards, as per reports. Recently, the game has also gone gold.
Microsoft Studios is set to work alongside Nvidia to release free copies of "Gears of War 4," The Verge reports. According to the website, players who buy a GTX 1070 or GTX 1080 as their graphics card, inside a laptop or part of a desktop system, are entitled to receive a free copy of the game.
The studio is set to give away promotional game copies with the purchase of the Nvidia graphics card from Sept. 20 to Oct. 30. In addition, buyers will be able to receive a copy of both the game's PC and Xbox One version for free, since it is under the Xbox Play Anywhere program.
According to The Verge, Microsoft does not usually partner up with Nvidia, although graphics card game bundles are frequent in the PC realm. The tech giant is otherwise using Nvidia's competitor AMD's chips inside the Xbox One; however, it is believed that Microsoft will adapt to using Nvidia at some point in the future.
In other news, Microsoft also announced that "Gears of War 4" has gone out to manufacturing ahead of its Oct. 11 global release date, according to Xbox's official website. When a game "goes gold" it marks the release of the game's golden master disc to Xbox's production facilities across the globe.
"Gears of War 4" is set to be released for Microsoft Windows and Xbox One on Oct. 11.
