Recent updates about "Game of Thrones" season 7 confirm that a crop of new characters will show up in the upcoming season. Just recently, the fantasy epic has reportedly tapped another big guest star to appear in multiple episodes.

Rumor has it that "Murder She Wrote" star Angela Lansbury is joining the cast next season, though details about what role she will play is not available yet. The actress' involvement in season 7 was first reported by the German website Bild, which also claimed that Lansbury will appear in more than one episode of the upcoming series.

Some reports claim that Lansbury's role is just a minor cameo which will require her to be on set for just four days. There are also speculations that she will play a pivotal role along the lines of Ian McShane in the previous season.

One of the most logical speculations is that she could be Maggy the Frog, the fortune-telling witch who once prophesied about Cersei being a queen someday and will outlive all of her children. This character was last seen in season 5 and was played by Jodhi May. Some fans believe that enough years have already passed since then so an older actress like Lansbury could now be an appropriate portrayer.

The actress has been actively acting both on stage and screen for over 70 years, so fans believe that there is no role given to her that she cannot handle.
