‘Game of Thrones’ Season 6 News: Five Directors to Direct Two Episodes Each in New Season

Latest reports claim that five directors will be directing two episodes of 'Game of Thrones' Season 6 each. While two new directors will be joining the popular fantasy television drama based on George R.R. Martin's novel series "A Song of Ice and Fire," the three other directors have already been a part of the HBO series.

Quoting a report in Entertainment Weekly, IB Times states that Jeremy Podeswa, who is has already worked on hit television shows like 'Boardwalk Empire' and 'Tudors,' will be directing the premiere episode as well as episode 2 of 'Game of Thrones' Season 6. Podeswa also directed 'Game of Thrones' Season 5 episodes 5 and 6.

Daniel Sackheim will join the show for the first time and direct 'Game of Thrones' episodes 3 and 4. Sackheim had earlier directed television shows like 'Miami Vice' and 'The X-Files.' Jack Bender, who earlier worked on 'Under the Dome,' 'Lost' and 'The Sopranos,' is also new to the series and will be directing episodes 5 and 6 of 'Game of Thrones' Season 6.

Meanwhile, Mark Mylod will also return to the television series to direct episodes 7 and 8 of the upcoming season. In 'Game of Thrones' Season 5, Mylod directed 'Sons of the Harpy' and 'High Sparrow.' Miguel Sapocnik, who was at the helm of the episodes 'The Gift' and 'Hardhome' in 'Game of Thrones' Season 5, will return to direct the last two episodes of the upcoming season. According to reports, 'Game of Thrones' Season 6 episodes 9 and 10 will be featuring an "epic battle climax."

Meanwhile, in an interview with Flicks and The City, 'Game of Thrones' cast member Maisie Williams spoke about how it feels to be a part of the hugely successful HBO TV series. According to the actress, who portrays the character of Arya, while filming her scenes she feels her role has a "big part," but while watching the show on television she realizes that there is a "whole other world going on all around." Hence, she also gets to watch the TV series as a fan too.

Williams said that Arya is not after the Iron Throne, but is only seeking revenge, after everything that she has endured. In the upcoming season, Williams hopes that her character will exact her revenge and live peacefully.

'Game of Thrones' Season 6 is expected to premiere in April 2016.
