'Game of Thrones' Season 5 Spoilers: ‘Improper’ Costumes for Sand Snakes, Fans Shun Designers

Even though spring is still some months away 'Game of Thrones' fans have already started their countdown for the return of the fantasy drama television series on the small screen in 2015.

On that note, fans are always looking for the latest spoilers and teasers for their favorite show, as these help them to have some idea regarding what they can expect from the television series based on R. R. Martin's best selling novel, 'A Song of Ice and Fire'.

In fact, 'Game of Thrones' Season 5 has been loosely based on Martin's 'A Feast for Crows' and 'A Dance with Dragons'.

Meanwhile, fans of 'Game of Thrones' recently got annoyed with the show's costume design department as they did not like the costume of the Sand Snake characters for the upcoming season.

Recently, some leaked photographs revealed that the department has designed nippled breastplates as costumes for the Sand Snakes.

According to Christian Today, the fans not only disapproved the costumes, but condemned the designers for their imagination.

In the face of such criticism, 'Game of Thrones' costume designer Michele Clapton came out with an explanation as to why they designed such tasteless armor for the Sand Snakes and described it as "an accident." In a recent interview with New York Magazine, Clapton explained that they did not intend to have the nipples on the breastplate. All this was just a fall out of a wrongly structured mold that was used to create the armor.

Clapton told the magazine, "I was surprised when I saw the picture. But I didn't notice them when I was there. And sometimes you can't go back and change things."

The designer further elucidated that most of her armory team are from Italy and ignored the problem, saying, "They're like, 'No, it's fine! Don't change it!'" She added, "They sand it off to an extent, but they didn't do it as much as I wanted them to."
