'Game of Thrones' Season 5 Episode 9 Spoilers: Whose Fate is at Stake in ‘The Dance of Dragons’?
Only one episode remains before the 'Game of Thrones' Season 5 finale and that's the penultimate episode of the season, 'The Dance of Dragons', which will be aired this Sunday on HBO. The promo video as well as the photographs of the episode released by the network suggest that the focus of 'The Dance of Dragons' will be on Daenerys.
According to IB Times, it appears that the fighting pit of Meereen will play a major role in the upcoming episode as fans will see Drogon, Daenerys dragon, running amok. Moreover, there are speculations that Jorah may possibly meet his end in 'The Dance of Dragons.'
In the meantime, it also appears that the fate of another character Stannis' daughter Shireen is also uncertain. Vanity Fair reports that Shireen has an uplifting moment with Ser Davos, and since 'Game of Thrones' has an inclination to kill off characters every time there is a touching scene, it is feared that Shireen's life may be at stake.
In the previous episode, fans saw Ramsay seeking his father's permission to invade Stannis' camp, and it is likely that Shireen will sustain injuries during the attack. The official synopsis for 'The Dance of Dragons' reads "Stannis confronts a troubling decision," and this may be in accordance with Stannis' decision to sacrifice her daughter.
Some weeks ago, Melisandre had offered to burn Shireen and, according to Vanity Fair, that "maybe Ramsay's attack is so devastating that Stannis's only shot at victory means burning his own daughter alive."
On the other hand, one person whose life seems to be secure at the moment is Ramsay - the character portrayed by Iwan Rheon. While a considerable number of fans have expressed their wish to see the character dead, recently Rheon hinted that he was safe, at least for the moment.
Speaking about his character's death, Rheon recently told Wales Online, "It could happen at any time, that's the nature of the show-no one's really safe. That said, I've just bought a flat in London so I hope that day doesn't come too soon."
Nevertheless, Rheon admitted that his character deserves to die. He told the publication, "That day is definitely coming, no mistake about it - and I hope that when it does it's nasty, and preferably dragon-related. . . . God knows I don't want him to become a White Walker. I'd hate to become a bloody zombie after all this."
'Game of Thrones' Season 5 episode 9 titled 'The Dance of Dragons' airs Sundays on HBO.
