Game List 2016: Top Upcoming Releases To Pair With Your Playstation
Technology can be a great equalizer. Thanks to digital distribution and angel investors, indie games have emerged to stand in line with major software developers.
Gamers are the biggest beneficiaries of this advent. They can now explore and play so many smaller games for a fraction of the prices of games from the five glossy, big-budget productions.
Sony and Microsoft are adapting to the trend and making sure that the smaller titles -- like Cuphead, Darkest Dungeon and The Tomorrow Children -- are included in their platforms.
As 2016 comes in, we are excited to play The new set of releases that will come our way. Here are some of them.
"Tacoma"
"Tacoma" is a narrative exploration game from Fulbright, small but impressive team behind "Gone Home," reports Gamespot.
Staged in the future, "Tacoma" tells the story of a protagonist who arrives in the lunar station to work -- but finds the entire place empty.
The game will slowly reveal what has transpired in Tacoma and the other secrets the place holds.
"Tacoma" invites comparison to "Bioshock."
"Friday the 13th: The Game"
The 15-player team game requires seven members to be team camp counsellors who will defend themselves against the eight-player controlling beast Jason Voorhees.
The kids can help each other hide or flee, but in the end, one must save oneself.
The game is originally called "Summer Camp," but the men behind the more popular "Friday the 13" franchise licensed it.
"Horizon Zero Dawn"
Set in the distant future, "Horizon Zero Dawn" visualizes mankind living in the stone age once again.
Surprisingly, robots live amidst the birds and the beasts and robotic dinosaurs are very helpful in farming and hunting.
The RPG project comes of as a big challenge for the studio whose previous work is the much simpler shooter series "Killzone."
"Mass Effect: Andromeda"
"Mass Effect: Andromeda" is a follow-up to the "Mass Effect trilogy" which dominated 2012. Remembered for its divisive conclusion, the previous game gains insane anticipation for "Andromeda."
The storyline and visuals for the game remains top-secret. But we do know that the game will exist in the same narrative world but different galaxy from its predecessor -- which means the environment and the visuals will be a bit familiar, but we will meet an entire generation of new characters.
Fans are looking forward to meet the new characters and to witness the interspecies romance and cosmic drama that will play around them.
"The Legend of Zelda"
"Zelda" games come in almost every five years, and fans go crazy every time they do.
Supposedly scheduled for release within the last quarter of 2015, the latest Zelda game is still in the wraps and is even unnamed.
But fans are assured that it will really come out and it will come in a brand new format as Nintendo launches a new console this year.
The new "Zelda" is hinted to feature massive and alluring open world where fans will come across many of the series' trademark puzzle-solving items, exploration on horseback, and a version of series protagonist Link that breaks a little with tradition - sporting unfamiliar garb and looking more androgynous than ever.
Series producer Eiji Aonuma shared that he will bring the game back to its roots by crafting a perilous world for players to get lost.
The game was delayed because the team stumbled upon new possibilities and they wanted to experiment with them, reports Sydney Morning Herald.
