Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge Specs News: Samsung Admits Flaw; Promises Immediate Solution?

After first dismissing the allegation by Consumer Reports that its active waterproof claims for the Galaxy S7 were false, Samsung is now releasing a news statement that will either assure or spark fear among users.

The statement was posted on its website which stated, "The Galaxy S7 active passed rigorous tests to ensure IP68 certification for water resistance."

"Samsung stands behind this water resistance certification, and will replace any Galaxy S7 active under its standard limited warranty, should water damage occur."

That statement can be taken two ways: fans will either be assured that if their device stops working after being exposed to moisture, they can get a replacement. But this news can also be perceived that Samsung is lying about its active waterproof guarantee for the Galaxy S7.

Earlier this month, Consumer Reports tested the Samsung Galaxy S7 by submerging it in a water tank with less than five feet of water for about half an hour. Those are within the waterproofing standard claims of Samsung.

Apparently, when the group took out the phone, it exhibited green lines on the screen and the touchscreen was all about damaged. Thinking that it was just that particularly phone, they again subjected another Galaxy S7 phone to the same tests and again received the same bad news: the deice stopped working.

Meanwhile, Trusted Reviews doesn't know how to take in the latest news, especially since the Galaxy S7 Active was billed to be the hardiest among the S7 line. The Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge, both also have the same IP68 rating, didn't have the same issues as the Active.
