There have been suggestions that Melissa McCarthy should become part of the Fast and Furious film franchise for its next installment, Fast and Furious 8.

She and Dwayne Johnson, her costar in the new movie, Spy, agree that it would be a great idea.

While McCarthy and Statham were promoting their new movie, Spy on May 28^th, the topic of the action racing movie franchise came up.

The question was aimed at Statham originally, and McCarthy quickly jumped on board.

The interviewer asked Statham whether he would be returning for Furious 8, to which he replied of course. "I'd certainly come back for the next movie, yeah," replied Statham.

The interviewer then hinted at McCarthy's possible inclusion in the film, inquiring, "Is there room for a sister in the Shaw family?"

This is when Melissa jumped in, saying "Oh! Wait, I just perked up... I'm sure everyone goes right to me [when they think of taking Vin Diesel]."

Though McCarthy was clearly joking, a lot of fans would agree with that statement.

In response to hearing her comment, Dwayne Johnson said "She could [beat Vin in a fight] for sure! I mean that goes without saying. Vin's tough though! I've fought him -- but Melissa's tough too. Never fought her, but we have common friends so I know how tough she is so yeah she could [take Vin Diesel down] for sure."

Clearly, The Rock is excited about this idea, although he makes it clear that McCarthy has no chance against him.
