'Furious 7' SXSW Premiere News: Cast Pays Tribute to Late Paul Walker at Film Festival

The cast of 'Furious 7' didn't complete the movie without the late Paul Walker in their thoughts. At the movie's first screening at the South by Southwest Film Festival (SXSW), producer Neal H. Moritz and Tyrese Gibson paid tribute to the actor.

"The reason that we kept this thing going became on behalf of our brother Paul Walker," states Gibson.

"We obviously lost a dear friend, brother, comrade when we were making this movie," Moritz expressed, "He was really the best guy I ever met in my world -- in my life. When we decided we were going to continue this movie, we were determined to honor his legacy and our love for him forever."

After Walker's fatal car accident, the crew decided to delay shooting for four months to mourn. When they resumed they recruited the help of Walker's brothers as stand-ins. Adding in some digital effects of the actor's face to fill in the gaps, they were able to successfully complete his scenes.

Whatever the producers planned to do with his character at the end, the film was said to serve as a fitting send off for the actor.

"This movie is the highlight of my career. I'm so proud of what we've done," Moritz states. "And I know Paul Walker would be smiling down on all of us."

On that note, 'Furious 7' comes out in theaters on April 3rd.
