'Furious 7' Box Office Report, Cast News: Franchise Revs Up April Opening with $384 Million Worldwide
While the recently released 'Furious 7' film shattered some windshields in the movie, it also went onto to break some records at the box office.
Reportedly, the movie is getting the widest release in production company Universal's history, with a theater count of roughly 4,003 including IMAX locations, according to CNN.
Apparently, 4,000 is usually reserved for summer tentpoles and year-end titles, which raises the bar for the box office collection for this edition of the "Fast and Furious' series.
While most of the actors on the cast are busy promoting the movie, the others are still mourning the death of the Paul Walker, one of the lead characters in the movie.
At the New York premiere of the movie, Vin Diesel, took out a moment to remember his dear friend.
Walker died in a car crash late in 2013 during a pause in production.
Diesel said, "Last year, it was really hard to come back to work. But the willingness of all my co-stars and director James Wan to return, as well as the support of Universal, inspired me to return to the project," according to Time.
In a recent interview with Variety, Diesel, speaking about Walker's death said "It was in some ways the hardest movie I ever had to do because the relationships that you see on film are so real. When the tragedy happened, I lost my best friend. I lost my brother."
Walker's death has generated a huge popularity for the film, worldwide. The latest edition in the "Fast and Furious' series, 'Furious 7' had a record breaking opening by making $384 million worldwide.
